Meet the Chef

Blogger, recipe writer, and founder of 'Sobremesa Restaurant', Chef Mal connects with his travels and familly heritage when it comes to food. 

He recalls his childhood memories of the family's Sunday feast around the table, where Sunday was an all-day food affair, from chopping and peeling to baking and socializing.

'It was that little wooden desk where my nan stood me on to help her rolling her famous turnovers, that wooden desk is what shaped who I am today'

Upon graduation, Mal has spent his early years under the tuition of some of the world's most renowned chefs, but the thirst for knowledge and love for travel got him to start a culinary journey throughout Europe, North Africa, and South America where different cultures and methods have influenced his dishes.


At age 25, Mal received a 3 AA award while working alongside Japanese chefs at Nikkei International, then shortly was invited to take several Executive positions within leading Hotels in London.

His passion for cooking has led him to run several super club pop-ups, where he introduced dishes reflecting on his journies and past experiences.

Currently, Mal overlooks the food operation and development of 'Sobremesa Restaurant' while running social bespoke events and cookery classes.
